Making Every Day Matter: Welcome to New Visions Day Service

2 Feb, 2026

At Rochdale Gateway Leisure, we believe that everyone deserves a space where they can truly flourish, make lasting friendships, and – most importantly – have fun! Today, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our most vibrant hubs: New Visions Day Service.

Located in the heart of Shaw, Oldham, New Visions is more than just a day service; it’s a small, close-knit community where adults with mild to multiple learning disabilities come together to explore new horizons.

A Small Group with a Big Heart

One of the things that makes New Visions so special is our size. With a dedicated team of staff supporting a small group of service users, we are able to provide a warm, family-like environment. We pride ourselves on the positive feedback we receive from visitors who often comment on the “home-away-from-home” feel of our centre.

Our goal is simple: to make every day matter.  Whether it’s watching an old friendship grow or seeing someone try a new activity for the very first time, we celebrate every milestone.

What’s on Offer?

We know that no two people are the same, which is why our activities are as diverse as the people who attend!
We offer a mix of relaxing, therapeutic, and high-energy sessions, including:

  • Getting Active: From Zumba and swimming to Rebound Therapy (trampolining) and sports like football and badminton.

  • The Great Outdoors: We love our garden! We have a large greenhouse where we work on growing projects – we’ve even been awarded funding for horticulture qualifications in the past.

  • Learning & Life Skills: Our “Cook and Eat” sessions are a firm favourite, helping everyone develop independence in the kitchen.

  • Community Connections: We are big believers in being part of the local community. You’ll often find us out and about on trips, using the nearby tram link (just 2 minutes away!) to explore the surrounding areas or visiting local spots like bowling alleys and shops.

  • Relaxation & Well-being: For those quieter moments, we offer “Looking Good, Feeling Good” beauty sessions, aromatherapy, and light stimulation.

Perfectly Placed in Shaw

You can find us at Harper Square in Shaw (OL2 8XA). We are incredibly easy to access, whether you’re coming by road or using the Manchester Metrolink. The Shaw tram stop is almost on our doorstep, making it easy for our group to head out on adventures and socialise in the wider community.

Join Our Family

We are always looking to welcome new faces to New Visions! If you are looking for a service that offers “new friendships and new adventures” in a supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.
