Gateway has a vision of a society in which all people are equally valued
Our Gateway centre was built using urban program funding and has been in operation as a Charitable organisation for over 25 years.
Gateway originally started with our centre based on Kenion Street, and over the years has expanded to managing five different sites; operating 5 Day Services, a Respite provision and as a host to multiple Social activity opportunities to the community.
Our success is largely attributed by our fantastic staff teams. We would not be the Gateway we are today without our teams working so creatively to ensure we assist our service users in leading a wholesome lifestyle. Actively accessing all integrated leisure, education, employment and living opportunities in the community.
Our staff are all fully trained and qualified to work in our teams at Gateway. Our teams collectively have a wealth of experience from many different backgrounds, their strengths are identified and utilised to provide excellent services for the individuals we support. Every member of staff from the Chief Officer to the Caretaker to the Volunteers play an integral part in making Gateway the prestigious place it is.

Senior Leadership Team
Elizabeth is a new addition to the team. She is the registered manager over Milgate House, our respite service. Elizabeth also ensures that all our service users are safe and has only the highest quality of care while they enjoy their stay at our respite service. We are looking forward to seeing how she further develops this service.
I have worked at Rochdale Gateway for almost 20 years. I oversee Alps Day service in Whitworth and Muskaan ladies service here in Rochdale. As a service manager in day services, I have had the privilege of working with an amazing team and wonderful service users. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities, which keeps my passion for this work alive. My focus is on creating a supportive and positive environment where both staff and service users can thrive.
I also oversee Rainbows Cafe, where over the last twelve months we have re-opened and getting busier each day. We offer a warm welcome and some delicious homemade soups, sandwiches and daily specials.
Roxanne has recently joined our team here at Gateway. She will oversee the Strive and New Visions Day services. However, Roxanne was not a completely new face here at Gateway – her previous role at Rochdale training made her very well known with staff and apprentices alike! It has also left her very well prepared to take on the responsibilities of ensuring our staff are trained to a high standard.
Jo handles most of the data entry and day to day tasks. She is essential to keeping the place running smoothly. Jo is the queen of excel. Handling invoices, petty cash and other various admin tasks are just some of the things thar Jo handles daily.
Testimonials
MUSKAAN AND GATEWAY ARE ACE !!!!!!!!!
As someone who is a working full time carer , I would be lost with the Muskaan service for my sister Rushna. The service gateway provide enables me to have an independent life and work in society, contribute and at the same time Rushna can develop her self-confidence by doing activities that she enjoys with female only support workers in the local community .
The muskaan support workers are great and understand my caring needs and very flexible with Rushna needs and requirements and even take her to the doctor because I cannot get time off at work. It also gives me break also from caring duties. I also enjoy the respite services that she gets at Millgate and the flexibility to book in advance and at short notice. This enables me to have a decent break and do things that I want to do on my own.
Without this service I would have to give up my full time job and look after Rushna seven days a week. This this we can stay together as a family but still live independent lives.

WE WOULD BE LOST WITHOUT ‘STRIVE’ AND GATEWAY.
Our Daughter Michelle has attended Gateway for 6 years and we feel we would be really lost without it. The support Michelle receives is second to none in our opinion. She gets picked up and dropped off at our home every day by the same person and this is very important to us. We feel we have good relationships and have built up trust with the staff at Strive and gateway.
There is a very high level of consistency.
Michelle also accesses the Millgate respite service and this gives us the break we need and also gives Michelle an opportunity to enjoy herself in a familiar environment surrounded by friends and people that we know care about her. This gives us peace of mind. We have no transport of our own so the fact that Strive take Michelle to appointments for us is a massive help that we would really struggle without.
There is always a lovely atmosphere at gateway and we are made to feel very welcome whenever we attend at the regular gateway events. We know our daughter is a happier person because she attends gateway.
