NEW VISIONS Day Service

Gateway took over management of the New Visions service in May 2017 from the Together Trust. Together trust felt they were unable to manage the service properly and efficiently due to their head office being based in Stockport. Various providers were contacted in a view to taking over the service, after consultation with the families of the individuals who attend having the final say in the decision-making process. The families chose Gateway!

The New Visions team consists of 9 service users and 5 Staff. We are a small group of individuals which provide a warm and welcoming environment. The feedback we get from visitors is always positive. We have developed close links with the local community and the PCSO’s.

We enjoy providing new and exciting experiences and activities for all our individuals. We like to provide new friendships and watch existing friendships grow and flourish every day, making everyday matter. During the summer months the group are usually found in the grounds of the building either completing outside activities, barbeques, badminton, football, rounders, boules, netball or in the large greenhouse with our growing projects.

We have worked closely with ‘Get up and Grow’, and have previously been awarded funding to provide some of our individuals with a qualification in horticulture! Some of our other activities that we take part in are: Cook and eat, rebound therapy, pitch and put, trips out, light stimulation, looking good-feeling good, art and crafts, zumba, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, and bowling, just to name a few.
